Nana Mohammed is a Multi-Media journalist from northeastern Nigeria covering conflict, humanitarian crises, child trafficking and abuse, and climate justice—highlighting how climate change and conflict deepen suffering. She is a producer and research fellow at UMass Boston’s Center for Environmental Justice Media, combining storytelling, field reporting, and research to amplify marginalized voices and support evidence-based solutions.Previously, Nana worked on the documentary film “Stolen Daughters,” produced for HBO and BBC, which tells the story of the kidnapped Chibok schoolgirls following the Chibok schoolgirls kidnapping. Her reporting has also examined climate change in the Lake Chad region and the impact of the Boko Haram insurgency in northeastern Nigeria.
Before moving to the United States, she was a producer at Trust Television in Abuja, Nigeria. She began her broadcasting career at a private radio station in Yola, Adamawa State, where she developed a strong foundation in journalism and storytelling.
Nana holds a Master’s degree in Science Journalism from New York University and a Bachelor’s degree in Language and Communication Arts from Modibbo Adama University of Technology in Yola, Nigeria.
